যুদ্ধ বন্ধ করুন
সন্তোষ কুমার পোখারেল

আমি শান্তির জন্য আমার কবিতা আবৃত্তি করেছি
যুদ্ধজাহাজ শোনেনি, রকেট ও ক্ষেপণাস্ত্র শোনেনি, মেশিনগান বা ট্যাঙ্কও শুনবে না, তাদের কেউই আমার প্রতি সদয় ছিল না।
এবং আমার কবিতা যুদ্ধের কুয়াশায় হারিয়ে গেছে
অসীমে ….
যুদ্ধ শুরু হল।
যুদ্ধ চলছে
অনেক বাড়িঘর ভেঙ্গে পড়ে, শহরগুলো ধ্বংস হয়ে যায় মানুষের স্বপ্নও নষ্ট হয়
মানুষ পালাচ্ছিল,
থামো তুমি ওদের মুগ্ধ করবে না
শহরগুলোও ধ্বংস হয়ে গেছে।
মাঠ রক্তে ঢেকে গিয়েছিল তখন সেখানে দাঁড়িয়েছিলেন নেতা
একই রক্তমাখা মাটিতে আপনার কাছে ভালো নাও লাগতে পারে কিন্তু এটাই সত্যি ছিল,
এবং অনেকে তাকে অনুসরণ করবে।
তার মুখ উজ্জ্বল হয়ে উঠল
আমি এই দৃশ্য দেখে হতবাক হয়ে গিয়েছিলাম যখন সে জিজ্ঞাসা করছিল,
তার আরও অস্ত্র দরকার।

Stop the War

I recited my poems for peace
Warships did not listen,
rockets and missiles did not listen
Neither the machine guns nor the tanks would me hear
None of them was kind to me appear
and my poem got lost in the fog of war
To infinity ….
The war commenced.
The war was going on
Many houses were felled, and cities were ruined
People’s dreams were also ruined
People were fleeing
Stop you won’t them woo
The cities were destroyed too.
The ground was covered with blood
The leader then there stood
On the same blood-stained ground
Though to you it may not well sound
But this was so true
And many would him pursue.
His face shined bright
I was shocked at this sight
As he was asking
He needs more weapons.
